Trust

There are many people who say they desire to be in a relationship with a person who is independent, not realizing or understanding that independent person can live alone and; have the ability and/or desire to be, or, live without another person.

An independent person most often times does not rely on or ask others for help, as well as seeks out and creates their own resource(s).  This is one of many elements of protection in being independent; it keeps one from being hurt as they lack trust of others.

This can cause issues in relationships as once, there was one, now there are two and they are co-dependent of each other to become one.  Learning to trust(depend) on someone to love you as you love yourself is not always as easy as it seems, but, it doesn't have to be made to be hard.
