For 9 years I battled with the State of Louisiana (Quachita Parish) to begin Trial for the person accused of murdering my Son. The accused chose trial, yet abated the system for 9 years with all kind of tactics of which the State of Louisiana deemed legal. Yes, there was a flood that slowed things down a bit, and then there was COVID, but that didn't last 9 years. Of course there was more crime during these times causing more back log, but not from cases that were already on the Docket.
Mid 2023, a new Prosecutor came into the district; Mike Fontenot, a 'seasoned' Attorney before becoming a now 'veteran' and soon to be retired Prosecutor. Mr. Fontenot did his due diligence of working on the case, bringing it to Trial Jul. 28th, 2025. A verdict of 'Guilty', Murder 2nd Degree was handed down, July 31, 2025. Sentencing within 90 days. And now the aftermath. I thought I would be relieved, happy, etc., this is not the case. It's going to take more than Therapy to live this 'new normal'. If vlogging doesn't help me through this, I hope it will help someone else.
