Social Media Effect

When was the last time you've been at a social event and didn't pull out your phone for anything other than to check for messages?  Most of us can't say we have.  We may have started out checking for messages, but then checked our social media account, or, accounts by habit.

As a society our inability to socialize without our phones or electronic devices has become very close to normal.  Our conversations and/or responses to others are more in depth on social media than in person.

Social Media has also become the platform for alter ego's, and the information place of society lifestyle decorum.  This is very out of place as to how one can create a platform on social media, gather a large following, claim to be an expert in whatever field they fantasize of, and convince a mass of people that their opinions and experiences are one in the same.

I encourage all to think for yourself, detach from social media as your source of socializing and actually get out to socialize, or at least interact with real people, even if it's to speak to someone in passing. #thatsurthurty
