When my youngest Son was in Preschool, the Teacher called him lazy. Her words to me, "Ooohh! You gonna have problems out of him. He lazy". I responded; "He's not lazy. He's not used to doing the work yet. He'll get there". She looked at me rolling her eyes and said it again, "He's lazy."
Little did this Teacher know, I began teaching my Son to read and write when he was in Early Development Head Start, so he wasn't lazy, he wasn't responding to her style of teaching. Hence the difference between a Teacher and an Educator.
An Educator knows how to adjust to a child's way of learning, allowing the child to retain the information the way they know how. Clarity. A Teacher teaches what has been taught to them; knowledge, no wisdom, or understanding the magnitude of education. An Educator desires for other's to go beyond their current abilities. A Teacher wants you to learn, retain, and recall information in the present. An Educator desires for you to learn, retain, experience and expound. Great difference between the two. #thatsurthurty
