Weekend Cleanse

Over the past year I've been more adamant of my organ health which is the basis for the rest of the body, internally and externally.

For a person who didn't eat vegetable's that often, I love drinking them in their pure state of the juice, no additives.  With juicing I get the full effects and benefits of everything they have to offer.

Green and Yellow are my favorite as they both have similar benefits in addition to their own individual support of the body's organs.

Green is best known for its benefits of brain health, Yellow, for it's benefits of the eyes and skin.  They both work together with their other benefits and they taste pretty good as well. I encourage all to either give juicing a try, or continue to.  It's very beneficial to your health. #thatsurthurty

Old Person, or an Elder?

There are many old people who believe they can say whatever they want due to them being old....this is a social norm that has been accepted as a general rule to follow. My opinion....we as a society have been brainwashed to be degraded with a cover up of, 'I'm only saying this because I love you'.  If an old person says degrading, disrespectful things to you, they don't love you at all.  To go deeper, they may not love themselves and want you to feel more hurt than what they do.

An Elder will not intentionally hurt your feelings or disrespect you.  Elders are full of wisdom, and righteous correction.  They discern when and when not to say things, as well as how to say them.  Elders are not unflawed people, as none of us are perfect.  They have things about them that need work or could be worked on, and they use those to things to expound on imparting into others.  Elders also share their experiences of right and wrong, up and downs, as well as challenges and victories of their life.

I encourage all who read this blog to discern between an old person, and an Elder.  Be mindful and respectful of the time whom you spend, as well as information you share and receive. #thatsurthurty

If You Hate It.....Quit

How many times have you loathed going into work?  How many times have you complained of your job on the way to work? How many times have you arrived at your job, sat in your car, hated the fact you had to go inside, and, maybe even contemplated quitting before you clocked in?  There's no more confirmation than that, you are either working the wrong job, should start your own business, or both.

There are some people who are just fine working for an employer, then there are others who work a job for so long, quit, work for another employer, quit, and the cycle continues.  For some people who do this, they lack discipline, others, they have a desire to have their own, and not to work for someone else.

If you are one of the people who lack discipline, I encourage you to look within yourself and understand why you have that lack.  For those who desire to have your own, please research of how to start your own business.  #thatsurthurty

Selfie Me

There have been many times in my life when I've been called ugly and a boy.  Yes, it planted the seed of discouragement, self-doubt, lack of confidence and quite a few other things.

As I grew, I took on those attributes of believing I was ugly, and acting like a boy.  Through the process of trial, error, tribulations, and defeats, I was sometimes tortured within my own thoughts from feeding into the words that others had spoken into my life.

Thankfully I had an older cousin to let me know that I wasn't any of those things, and who or what I am is determined by what I say, not anyone else.  Others will have their opinion(s), but it never outweighs what I believe and think of myself. #thatsurthurty

A Long Way

Did you know that a simple, 'hello', or 'how you doing' goes a long way?  Greetings and Salutations are two of the most easiest and simplest things you can do not only for yourself, but others as well.

How many times have you walked past someone you didn't know and did not speak?  How many times did you speak? How about doing it all the time?  You never know when someone may need to hear the voice of someone other than those they are familiar with.

How does it make it feel when someone greets you? Does it increase or decrease your mood? I can tell you one thing, it sure doesn't take away from anything in your life.  It doesn't waste or cost you anything.

I know there are people out here who don't like contact with others, and are more comfortable being alone, unnoticed and often times both so I don't expect them to speak......but it doesn't hurt to speak to them.

So try it.....give greetings and salutations.  It increase your mood and adds to your peace.  #thatsurthurty

Teacher or Educator

When my youngest Son was in Preschool, the Teacher called him lazy.  Her words to me, "Ooohh! You gonna have problems out of him. He lazy".  I responded; "He's not lazy. He's not used to doing the work yet. He'll get there".  She looked at me rolling her eyes and said it again, "He's lazy."

Little did this Teacher know, I began teaching my Son to read and write when he was in Early Development Head Start, so he wasn't lazy, he wasn't responding to her style of teaching. Hence the difference between a Teacher and an Educator.

An Educator knows how to adjust to a child's way of learning, allowing the child to retain the information the way they know how.  Clarity.  A Teacher teaches what has been taught to them; knowledge, no wisdom, or understanding the magnitude of education. An Educator desires for other's to go beyond their current abilities.  A Teacher wants you to learn, retain, and recall information in the present.  An Educator desires for you to learn, retain, experience and expound. Great difference between the two. #thatsurthurty

Getting Up Is The First Step

Laying down those few extra minutes could offset your entire day in ways you could not imagine.  There are already things going to happen or be said that you may not be expecting, so to get up on time and be prepared for the day is good for you and all who are associated to you.

Upon your eyes opening or your alarm clock going off, get up.  Once your feet hit the floor, that's it, you're on your way to a prosperous day. And when I speak of prosperity, I'm speaking beyond finance.  There are many areas of your life that desire and yearn for increase, and that increase comes through you getting up out of the bed. Take the first step........get up! #thatsurthurty

A Reminder To Rest

This video is from last year I believe.  If not, 2 years.  On this day I thought it was a Saturday, it was actually a Sunday and I had no clue until I received a text from one of my Sisters to say that she was dropping something off to me after Church Service.

I texted her back asking what was going on at Church on a Saturday.  She jokingly informed me that this day was a Sunday.  Immediately I knew I was overworked and stressed.

I'm glad I came across this video today as it is a strong reminder for me to continue to rest and relax as often as I can.  When you don't know what day it is, that's an issue that needs to be corrected.  I've since corrected that issue and will not go backwards. #thatsurthurty

No Options To Stop

Feb 9, 1995 - Jan 1, 2016
Stayed in bed a little longer today, but I did manage to get up and dress myself.  Everyday he's in my thoughts and on my heart.

Unfortunately the last part of the year, with more emphasis being on the last week of the year, is very excruciating and a strong reminder of why I don't celebrate anything.  I stay to myself.

It will always be hard for me as it's a part of me now.  I absolutely hate it, but I have to push forward.  There's much work that has to be done and I have to do it, so there's no option for slowing down or quitting.......not until the work is done. #thatsurthurty
